Father, Dad, Papa
Recently, Pastor Kent from Regeneration Nashville spoke on your relationship with The Father and what that looks like. When you first become born again, you are all about Jesus because of what He did for you at the Cross. So, you're elated that you are saved so all your efforts and speaking is about how Jesus is amazing. You relationship with Him is established.
Then as you move on your walk with Him, you realize you can't do anything without the Spirit of God, Holy spirit, Holy Ghost - however you want to call Him, He's all the same. You rely on Him to get you through the days that are the hardest especially when you are coming out of trials, or testing. He's always present to be your Helper.
Finally, you have the Father. He is your Dad, He is your Friend, He is your Papa. Pastor Kent talked about the coming into His presence and how you approach it with your prayer time. He talked about how he would come in and want to know if he is doing a good job, or if God is proud of him. But the Father is speaking to us now, come away from the questioning, come away from the doubting, come away from the questioning if He is mad at you. He isn't. He is a Father. So when you look at it that way, you can have a relationship with Him as you do with your mom, dad, friend, sister, brother, grandma, etc. You can come in and just strike up a conversation.
It's easy when you look at it that way. I kept coming in repenting for everything, things that didn't even need repenting. I kept bringing up old stuff, or stuff that I did that day and I would be going on and on and on about it. Next thing I know, I'm stuck in this cycle for the last 2 hours of prayer time, or even 10 minutes of prayer time and I GOT NO WHERE. No one was ever prayed for. No one was ever mentioned because of this issue.
So after hearing this sermon (The Father) my prayer time dramatically changed. I could come into His presence with Joy and Excitement to be with Him. I could approach Him with acceleration to advance the kingdom of God. This approach changed my prayer life. Sure, there will be moments where the Holy Spirit will convict you in an area that you need to repent but trust Him in this area. He just wants YOU.I pray this changes your approach, too. I pray this sermon ministers to you and I believe that you will see mighty changes in your life because of your obedience to Him. He loves you and so do I!
Joyful Home Welcomes You!
