The Sphere of God
I am sure you know the verse, "Your Word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path," Psalm 119:105. Well today the Lord shed some light on it! (No pun-intended, laughing at myself).
Since I stopped the Hal Higdon training, I was off a few days from running because my family needed some help getting some wood split. That right there is a workout in itself, so I decided to take it a little easy on my body and quite frankly, I wasn't hearing from the Lord or a nudge to run. So I laid low.
This morning I was feeling a nudge from the Lord to run and to my excitement I felt like I needed to run to Hadley (4 miles)! I was excited and was careful to not block myself from this success by self-talking myself down. So I made sure that I was super close to the Father before the run, during the run, and after by praising Him. Sometimes He will place a song on my heart and I'll sing it the whole time and other times He will have me praying for people. This time, He was revealing somethings!
While I was running today I felt like I was in a sphere. You know when you point a flashlight at the ground at night and you only see the circular portion of the light around you and the few feet in front of you? That is what it felt like with Him today. He said to me, "Do you see in front of you when you are walking in the dark and there is only the small light on your feet?" I said, "No, just darkness usually." He said, "That is what it means when My Word is a lamp and and My light is upon your feet. You are not meant to look further ahead, just on Me. That is what trust is, trusting Me that I will walk you through the darkness with My light on you!"
I was astonished at this revelation! Of course! When I'm running in the dark and all I can see is the light in front of me bouncing back and forth, I am meant to only see what is at every step and I am trusting Him to protect me! He also highlighted the verse from Isaiah 30:21, "Your own ears will hear Him: Right behind you a voice will say, "This is the way you should go," whether to the right or to the left." It is total dependency on Him to get me through the early morning darkness AND the higher milage that I am running. I depend on Him to tell me how many miles I am to run and I depend on Him to keep me hidden and safe while I run. I depend on Him to put me in His sphere.
My forehead was tingling and all I could feel was this little sphere of light around me that blocked out the noise of the cars zooming by and the people walking. It was quite the experience to be totally secluded with My God.
I pray that you are able to experience this with Him. The intimacy of the sphere. Just you and Him walking, running, worshiping, reading, getting ready in the morning, etc. Just the Lord that loves you so much and you.
Joyful Home Welcomes You! Hi*
