Study of Esther
Good evening folks. It has been a while and I'm not exactly sure why... I've been doing the year bible with Pastor Jasmine from Regeneration Nashville and it has brought up some old Born Again feelings that I'm falling in love with again - reading the word all over the place.
What do I mean by that? One of the bibles that I own has footnotes and sometimes it gives a detailed description of what you're reading and other times it lists other verses that is similar to meaning or subject. I would jump all over the word of God and then feel such closeness with Him. He is bubbling this back up in me. I'm not sure why I stopped!
I've been reading Esther for the last month or so and asked my dad to come along with me and read it, too. We have been reading a chapter a day! Chapter 1 we concluded that King Xerxes is pompous, capricious, and prideful. He led his kingdom with such pride by showing off all his wealth and such. But what grabbed my attention was the fact that Queen Vashti seemed to have been following Persian law and not revealing herself to other men because she was just for the King. So a bit of me was feeling bad for her but you can't stop God's divine providential plan, can you!? No.
Chapter 2 talks about Esther and Mordecai and how they were related. I was telling my dad that the way that Esther was submissive to her cousin was impressive. What person do you know that is submissive to a cousin, let alone a husband? It makes me wonder how beautiful she was on the inside and not only the outside! She was not only submissive to Mordecai, but also ultimately God!
I want to learn from her and not only be beautiful on the outside and not prideful, but beautiful on the inside and have a pure, submissive, meek heart. What a lady!
I pray that you are doing well and that all things are working out for His good for those that love Him. I pray that you are trusting Him more and more each day and that you'll be submissive to Him when He calls you up for your ministry! In Jesus' name.
Amen -
Joyful Home Welcomes you! :) Hey, hey, hey, hey!
