Faithfulness in Finances! An Attribute of God

Do you ever look at your financial situation and just want to give up? Cry? Or panic? Yes! God has been bringing me through a journey since I quit my job several years ago. Everyone (including myself) thought it was crazy. Going down to one income is a total trust in the Lord that He will provide.

You see, I depended on God's Word that says that if I put my trust in the Lord and "seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give me everything I need" (Matthew 6:33). And so, I stopped everything and sought His kingdom first. Everything has been added onto me but I have had to train my flesh to get in line with my Lord. There were several times that I cried when bills would pile or something broke in the house: water heater, fridge, freezer, toilet, you name it! I was being put to the test. If I am a tither, then God will be tested in this area and provide. I do not know how we are here today except that God provided the money through it all! That's all I can say -- He truly is faithful!!

I am learning that my faith is stretching when it comes to financial situations. When something comes up - seek the Lord for wisdom. But when He has already promised us something - look to the promise. Well in this case, the promise says that we are lenders and not borrowers according to Deuteronomy 15:6. My faith is manifested by obedience to God's commands. I need to determine to not take it into my own hands and control the situation in order to get it off my back but to believe that He will truly follow through on His promise. If I don't hear from the Lord, keep my head down and continue to seek His word for answers, peace, and comfort. That's where the joy is! Lamentations 3:22-27 - "The faithful love of the Lord never ends (keeps us from destruction)! His mercies never stop. Great is HIs faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, "The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in Him!" The Lord is good to those who depend on Him, to those who search for Him. So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord. And it is good for people to submit at an early age to the yoke of His discipline."

When God promised Abraham that many nations were going to come from him, you'd think after several years of Sarah being barren he would had wavered on his faith. But in Romans 4:20 it says that he never did - that was SEVERAL years of waiting for God to come through on His timing! In fact, Abraham's faith grew stronger and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever He promises.

I am determined to be fully convinced that God is going to come through on His promises for my life and my families! I am determined to see what the Lord can do and at the appointed time He will come through. It isn't about my timing or what I want, but Him and bringing Him the glory. If my faith walk can show others that God can do all things and nothing is impossible, then here I am Lord, let it be so!

Numbers 23:19 "God is not a man, so He does not lie. He is not human, so He does not change His mind. Has He ever spoken and failed to act? Has He ever promised and not carried it through?"

Lord, I thank you for this reader that is here today. If there are any situations that she or he is facing where they are wavering on their faith because You are going to move on Your timing and not theirs, I pray they submit to You and wait. I pray that they will praise You during this time, allow You to teach them Your ways and be a light to others during this season. May You reveal to them in small bursts of hope that You are there with them and they have no worries! In Jesus' name, Amen.

Joyful Home Welcomes You! Hi*:)
